BANANAS TO HELP QUIT SMOKING?

6/6/2015
SATURDAY
Fruits from the morning market.... Forelle pears and Korean pears and some red Dacca bananas.. first time buy this type of bananas...

Read this on google:
"bananas contain tryptophan, a type of protein that the body converts into serotonin - known to make you relax, improve your mood and generally make you feel happier. Bananas can also help people trying to give up smoking, as the high levels of Vitamin C, A1, B6, B12 they contain, as well as the potassium and magnesium found in them, help the body recover from the effects of nicotine withdrawal."

Found this on the internet but not sure whether it really help to quit smoking or not! But it seem that the redder the fruit the more carotene and higher level of Vitamin C and there are a list of  health benefits for eating bananas anyway..... well still waiting for them to ripen....

There are books that keep you in suspense, books that are page turner,   books make you cry and laugh and books that you re-read and re-read and there are some books that you  just cannot finish no matter how you try.   With a  whole box of new books waiting and fighting for my attention after the Bookxcess Box sale, its time to take stock of those that has been languishing by the side.  As the saying goes, "one man's trash is another man's treasure".... so it was a good opportunity to exchange these books for something else when I read about the KL Book Exchange over the weekend at the Arts for Grabs events in The School at Jaya One.

There were many arts related stalls and merchandise for sale.  With the headlines recently about refugees, this event help to introduce the plight of the refugees in Malaysia.   There was a exhibition of paintings drawn by the children and also the arts and crafts of the different refugees groups.

After browsing, we went to Go Noddles House for late lunch/early dinner. The cafe specialise in mee-sua (thicker type) noddles and their special soup broth  using Chinese wine and  homemade fish paste..

SUNDAY

Question Sarah asked me: When  was the last time, I eat a  doughnut?
Very long long ago ...way back when J Co and Big Apple doughnuts and later Krispy Kreme hit our Malaysian shores, I think.. 2007, 2008?
I have sustained myself from eating or buying them as my  opinion is that doughnuts are fattening, sugar loaded and greasy.   But last weekend Sarah had this craving to eat doughnuts, so after shopping we dropped for our teatime treat...

The doughnuts are light and not greasy at all. The Green Tea with almond flake is good... can definitely taste the green tea and the chocolate one is not too sweet either.  Of course, we absolutely liked that BIG cup of latte...value for money... pure indulgence.

One of the items we bought from the supermarket was a packet of  6 lemons and immediately Sarah decided to make Lemon Tart...

Taught her how to roll out the pastry to fix the pie plate

Her masterpiece at last...

While she was busy with her Lemon Tart, I baked my Bacon, Mushroom and Caramelised Onions Quiche.

and while we were busy, Bebe tried to catch  her own  "dinner"
