It was a rare occasion that both girls were able to come downtown to have lunch with me.
The facade of LOKL Coffee
For some time, we had wanted to try this LOKL coffee near my workplace. It is located along Jalan Tun H.S Lee, one of the busiest road in downtown. It is a compact cafe occupying on a shoplot along this row of old shophouses and next door is a budget hotel.
Wall decorated with poster arts.
The alfresco courtyard- only spoilt by those hanging towels from the connecting hotel next door
Illy coffee beans
Latte- (RM10.90)
Their signature coffee- Coffee Bon Bon (RM8.90)-
shot of esspresso with condensed milk- dark and strong
We try the set lunch for the day: Roast Tomato Soup, Chicken Caesar Sandwich (main) and Lime Slice (dessert). You can pick your choice 2 course (forgot to note how much) or 3 course (RM28.50).
Roast Tomato Soup - robust tomato flavour but I really dislike having to get rid of the seeds and fibres from the soup.
Chicken Caesar Sandwich.
Creamy chicken mash with pieces of dried cranberries, bacon bits and hard boiled egg. The side salad was refreshing with it's piquant dressing. Bread roll was soft and warm.
Rosemary Chicken Thigh with Panini (RM18.90)
Lime slice (RM7.90).
I was looking forward to a refreshing-tart dessert to aid digestion at the end of this "heavy" meal.
However, I find that the Lime Slice was a bit of let down. The pastry was thick and floury and dry. The thin layer of lime custard does not help to balance the thick pastry.
And they accept cash only.
Enjoy your weekend!
