JASON'S WEDDING - PART 1

27/12/2014
SATURDAY

December weddings seem the norm in the family. Here I present to you the newly wedded... my nephew Jason and Giselle

the epic marriage proposal at the Standard Chartered Bank Marathon...
both of them are avid marathon runners.

a peep at the bridal room.....
prayer items for the "hair-combing" session

Decorating the house on pre-wedding day

After dinner, its time to get ready the "tong yuen" for the "hair-combing" prayers.

Even little YZ wanted to help....

Time to light up just while the bridegroom-to-be had his bath.

and donned on the white shirt and pants......

My sister and her family.... happiness complete now with the eldest son getting married.

His paternal uncle conducting the "hair-combing"
once for marriage from beginning to end, two for both of them to grow old together and third for lots of future generations.

Mother feeding son....
from birth to now as he is grown up ....(old saying to eat tong yuen is grow older a year)

father's turn next.... so happy  that he kept shoving them into his mouth...hahahaha.

Then we all had our share of the tong yuen and then its goodbye till tomorrow morning.

27/12/2014
Everyone was early as the bridal entourage has to leave the house and reach the bride's house by 9am

cousins

the "heng dai"  (brothers) showing their support to the groom ..... and Manchester U!

while the girls show their support... preparing the Just Married sign

"Get me to the bride in time"

no problem .... get into the car....and we were on our way.
The trip took us around an hour and soon we reached ......

Testing his patience and sincerity ("seng yee")

Finally ..... give angpow and then you can come out...
Of course, its not straightaway to fetch the bride.... got to show how earnest you are.....

but of course, any difficulties posed by the bridemaids  can be  done by the "brothers"

and "guma" may..with Chee ken.

The groom also participated....

a grand finale of yoga demonstration....

Next, time to get some energy...

to make hearts out of bak hwa (meat jerky)....

Old-style houses opposite the bride's house...

one last hurdle - give your undertakings to provide the best for your future wife..

Finally.......

The mother and father-in-law...

Time for family photo...

to be continued part 2......
