THE DAYS OF CHINESE NEW YEAR 2014

30/1/2014
REUNION DINNER -CHINESE NEW YEAR EVE

Initially, I was thinking  of eating out for the Reunion dinner this year as firstly there are only 3 of us, secondly, it will be more convenient and finally it will save the cooking and washing up for me. But then I realised that cooking the Reunion dinner and clearing up after that,is all what Chinese New Year is about..... IT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT EVENT OF CHINESE NEW YEAR!

So  my homecooked Reunion Dinner together with my sister-in-law and her mother and sister

Vegetarian Yu Sang - bought from the market, I only need to add the radish and carrot

Not a wholly vegetarian dish- it has dried oysters and fatt choy!

Poached Chicken and hence Hainanese Chicken Rice with chili dipping sauce

Cantonese-style Fried Prawns with ketchup

Hakka Braised Pork Belly and Fish Maw and Fishball soup made up the rest of the menu.

  5. Hi Elaine, Gong Xi Fa Cai to you and your lovely family, and not forgetting the four-legged members too. Such a happy and festive atmosphere. How many mahjong games going at once, I saw so many tables there. I believe CNY is the time to get all the family members together. Enjoy the rest of the new year.
