RIDE THE MOVIES -DAY 2

We woke up early as we intended to spend the day at Universal Studio! We have been informed that  you need to spend a lot of waiting time for the rides.    It was with great expectancy and joy that we make our way to the Sentosa Island. We took the MRT to Harbourfront station and had our breakfast at the Food Republic.  Since we were so early, most of the stalls were not ready yet.  Just had some wanton/dumpling mee and You Tiou with Soya drink.

Christmas Tree at Harbourfront station.

From here you can either take the MRT to Sentosa island or walk across.  The Broadwalk is around 540 km of walking across the sea- using the travellator.   It take around almost 1/2 hour for us to cross over.  You can enjoyed the sea breeze and the view and it is cheap - only have to pay S$1.00 for the entrance to the island.
Taking our time on the travellator

Enjoying the view

Finally we have arrived.

Of course, must take a photo at the icon

The Hollyward Boulevard
Along the boulevard, we meet Big Bird, Elmo and the friends too- we were just like little children over again!

I think this Space Chase will be ready next year

Our first ride was an introduction to the "movie film set" - to see the effects used in filming. This movie only took around 15 minutes waiting time.  The movie was entertaining and enlightening!

Around the corner, we came to the  highlight of USS - Transformers ride the 3D battle with Ebac!
The waiting time was 50 minutes - an hour of standing in line, but we did not feel bored as each of the station that we passed there were video clips of the movie.

The star which is what's all the battle is about!

The ride was thrilling and exciting and definitely worth the long waiting time.   I have seen  part of this battle from the video and this ride just take you literally into the battle itself! the 3D effects were fantastic! Don't miss this ride!

Bumble Bee

It is thrill after thrill - next on is Battlestar Galactica- the duel roller coaster ride. I passed this one -not for me. I had been on the roller coaster ride in HongKong once and that was the last time you can get me on another one. The adrenline rush and heart stopping swirls and turns are not for me, but Sarah and Esther bravely went for it with their cousin.

Battlestar Galactica -definitely not for the faith-hearted

Mystical ride with the Pharaoh

There is a Madagascar Crate Adventure; the Jurassic Park

and of course - a merry-go-round ride for me!

Down memory lane - how many since I sat on one of this? The only entertainment park back then was the BB Park. So you can imagine how long ago that was, so its yesterday once more.
The last of all was the 4D show and again it was hilarious and fun.

Good things had to come to end too soon and it had started to rain again.

The cheapest souvenir from USS- raincoat @ S$3.00 each

We make our way back to Orchard Road for more retail therapy and to see the Christmas decorations.
We arrived at the ION Orchard and decided to have dinner at the food court (again) before going separate ways.
Fried Oysters

Singapore Fried Hokkien Mee- this one was a bit of disappointment.

This 12.12.2012 was definitely a good and fun day for us.
