Concluding the 3 days trip down to Singapore.
Before our check out and departure, we decided to make a trip Haji Lane area.
We were quite unprepared for the quietness of the place - no wonder since most of the shops only open around noon time. So we just wandered  around  and took some photos of the quaint shopfronts. Most of the shops are just 2 storey old shophouses transformed by quirky ideas and decorations.

 Mix n match fun things

Vainpot Boutique and Bicycle shop further down

the sign says it
Notice those beautiful enamelled mugs!

A sanctuary for peace and calm should you need it in between your shopping

Time for breakfast at only coffee shop which was opened nearby.

Pig Tail and Spare ribs noddles

 Big Prawns mee soup

After breakfast, Sarah and company wanted to go for some last minute shopping, while I just check out the area behind the hotel.

Entrance is only free on Friday night,
so did not get the chance to view any exhibits.

Old church

We checked out of the hotel and made our way to Novena Square for the coach back to KL.
After checking in with the coach company, there is still time for us to get our lunch at The Curry Times at the ground level.   This cafe specialises with Malaysian/Nyonya cuisine and the food is served in enamelled plates and bowls!
Otak-otak served on pretty plate- it is tasty and delicious

Braised Soy Chicken - only complaint - not enough sauce!

By the time we boarded the coach, it had started to rain again. However thanks to the careful driver we had a safe journey home.
It was a wonderful time with my daughters.  We had not been able to go to the Garden at the Bay or The Marina Sands and had to give away the tickets, so maybe that is a good reason to go down again?

  1. A Happy New Year to You and your family. Yes, I will come again and hope to meet up with you too.
    God Bless
